The Moroccan National Tourism Office is increasing its actions and partnerships in order to increase seat capacity to Morocco. In this context, the ONMT announces the strengthening of its partnership with Transavia, a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM group, through a significant increase in the air offer from France from this winter of 2023.
A partnership that is all the more strategic as it provides for the relaunch of the Paris – Dakhla line, which was launched in 2018 but was suspended due to the Covid-19 crisis. Transavia, with the support of the ONMT, will therefore not only resume this connection but also double the number of frequencies per week on this line. The flights will therefore be operated Monday and Friday in order to boost 4-day weekend getaways.
The inaugural flight took place this Monday, October 30 at 1:00 p.m. with Olivier Mazzucchelli, CEO of Transavia, on board, who was welcomed on the tarmac of Dakhla Oued Eddahab airport by Adel El Fakir, Director General of the Moroccan National Office of Tourism as well as by representatives of the Dakhla Regional Tourism Council.
The airline will also launch a new direct route, Paris – Errachidia, with one frequency per week (Sunday). Another important aspect of this agreement is the strengthening of service to Marrakech from the province, through the opening of new direct lines Rennes – Marrakech and Brest – Marrakech.
This new ONMT-Transavia partnership will thus make it possible to inject 252,315 seats to Morocco from France during the 2023-2024 winter season, which represents a significant increase of 39% compared to the winter offer. 2022-2023. In addition to the airlines secured via the ONMT-Transavia partnership, the airline will provide 206,199 seats, bringing the overall capacity to 458,514 seats.
This strategic partnership thus crystallizes the ONMT’s efforts to strengthen air transport, a fundamental axis of its “Light in Action” action plan.
